When you name congruent polygons, you must list corresponding vertices in the same order. Therefore, in order to identify the congruent parts, we need to look at the order of the vertices in the congruence statement.

△ A B C ≅ △ E F G The first vertex on the left is congruent to the first vertex on the right, the second vertex on the left is congruent to the second vertex on the right, and so on. Therefore, ∠ E≅ ∠ A.
