In an ordered pair, the x-coordinate comes first and the y-coordinate comes second.
In an ( x, y) ordered pair, the first number shows the x-coordinate and the second number shows the y-coordinate.
Notice that the point (0,0) is the origin. Let's graph it!
Now, we want to graph ( 2, 2). The x-coordinate " 2" tells us to move two units in the positive horizontal direction. The y-coordinate " 2" tells us to move two units in the positive vertical direction.
Let's move to ( 0, 3). The x-coordinate " 0" tells us not to move in the horizontal direction. The y-coordinate " 3" tells us to move three units in the positive vertical direction.
Now that we found all points, we can show them on one graph.
