( 2c^2 + 7c - 1)-( c^2 - 10c + 4) In this case, we have two c^2-terms, two c-terms, and two constants. All terms can be combined, so to simplify the expression we will remove parentheses, rearrange it according to the Commutative Property of Addition, and then combine like terms.

(2c^2+7c-1)-(c^2-10c+4)

Remove parentheses

2c^2+7c-1-(c^2-10c+4)

Distribute -1

2c^2+7c-1-c^2+10c-4
