Exercise 59 Page 270

Use the Multiplication Property of Equality to eliminate the division.

m=- 77

Practice makes perfect
To solve the equation, we have to isolate m on one side. Using the Multiplication Property of Equality, we will multiply both sides of the equation by 7. This will eliminate the denominator of the fraction and isolate m.
m/7=- 11
m/7* 7=- 11* 7
m=- 11* 7
m=- 77
m=- 77 is the solution to the equation.
