From the diagram, we see that C is located 5 units to the right of the origin and 0 units above or below it. Then, its coordinates are x= 5 and y= 0, which we can write as ( 5, 0). To determine the quadrant in which a point lies without graphing, observe the signs of the x- and y-coordinates.
