Practice makes perfect
The product of any nonzero real number and its reciprocal is 1. x*1/x=1The reciprocal of a fraction is the inverse of that fraction. x/y*y/x=1 This means that the reciprocal of 16 is 61. Let's check that this is true by calculating the product.
1/6* 6/1? =1
1* 6/6* 1? =1
6/6? =1
1=1 âś“
The product of these two fractions is equal to 1 so we can be sure that 61 is a reciprocal of 16. Notice that we can also rewrite 61 as a number 6.
