Exercise 5 Page 406

5^8

Practice makes perfect
We are given a numeric expression and want to write an equivalent expression. (5^4)^2 Notice that this expression is the power of a power. Therefore, we can use the Power of a Power Property. This property states that when we have an exponential expression raised to another exponent, we can multiply the exponents.
(5^4)^2
5^(4* 2)
5^8
Please note we have only shown one of many possible equivalent expressions.
