To write a rule for the translation, it is enough to consider only one set of corresponding vertices. For this polygon, we will consider the upper vertices. Let's count the number of units we move vertically and horizontally to map N onto N'.

We can see that we moved right 3 units and up 1 unit to get from the preimage to the image. Now, remember that horizontal translations affect the x-coordinate and vertical translations affect the y-coordinate. Let's finally write a rule for the transformation. (x,y) → (x + 3,y + 1)
