The area of a circle with radius r is calculated using the formula below. A=Ď€ r^2We know the diameter is 16inches. We can get a value for r by dividing the diameter by 2. r = 162 in. = 8 in. By substituting 8 for r in the formula, we can calculate the area A.
A=Ď€ r^2
A=Ď€( 8)^2
A=Ď€(64)
A=64Ď€
The area of the circle is 64 π square inches.
