Division in an inequality works very similarly to division in an equation.

If there is a coefficient for the variable in an inequality, you can use division to cancel the multiplication as they are inverse operations. From Explorations 1 and 2, we saw that the difference between division in an inequality and in an equation is that the inequality sign sometimes changes directions. This occurs when dividing by a negative number.
