A scatter plot shows the relationship between two data sets using ordered pairs. A very common example of a scatter plot shows the number of ice cream cones sold daily and how it relates to the outside temperature on that day.

Stem-and-Leaf Plot

A stem-and-leaf plot orders numerical data and shows the data distribution. Average daily or monthly temperatures is an example of data that can be represented using this type of display. Next, we will show a stem-and-leaf plot that shows the average daily temperature in California in January $2020 .$

Pictograph

A pictograph shows data using pictures. A good example could be the blood type of patients at a hospital.

Line Graph

A line graph shows how data changes over time. In recent years, the trend of streaming platforms has increased. Here is an example that shows the number of subscribers of a known platform from $2015$ to $2020 .$

Box-and-Whisker Plot

A box-and-whisker plot shows the variability of a data set using quartiles. It is commonly used to show things such as height distributions, grades, and scores. We will show the box-and-whisker plot that shows the distribution of tickets sold on a weekend for a new movie.

Histogram

A histogram shows frequencies of data values in intervals of the same size. It is one of the most used data displays. Many examples can be found that show data such as ages, heights, and time periods. Dot Plot
