We can use a calculator to evaluate a reciprocal trigonometric ratio using the

SIN,

COS,

and

TAN

buttons. We first need to rewrite the function using its reciprocal counterpart.

csc (1.5) = \frac{1}{sin ( 1 . 5 )}

Be sure to always check that your calculator is in the correct mode. In this case, we need radians.

Now, we can round the result to the nearest thousandth or three decimal places.

csc (1.5) \approx 1.003
