Exercise 47 Page 154

Make a table of values before graphing.

Practice makes perfect

When creating a graph to describe a situation, our first step is to assign variables. In this case, we have two items that we are counting.

  1. Number of Performances
  2. Number of Pre-sale Ticket Requests

Since the number of performances depends on the number of requests, let's make a table of values using ticket requests as our x -values.

    Ticket Requests Performances
    0-249 0
    250-499 1
    500-749 2
    750-999 3
    1000-1250 4

Let's graph those steps using the multiples of 250 as our end points. The first part of each step be a point, the last a circle.
