The order in which two or more factors are multiplied does not affect the value of the product. That is, the multiplicands can be written in any order.
a* b = b* a
For example, multiplying 5 by 4 produces the same result as multiplying 4 by 5. In both cases, the product is 20. This property also applies to the product of more than two terms. 3* 2* 6 &= 2* 6 * 3 &⇓ 36 &= 36 ✓ Since the Commutative Property of Multiplication is an axiom, it does not need a proof.
