Univariate Data

Univariate data is a set of data that is a result of observing a single variable. The prefix uni refers to the fact that the set consists of only one type of data. A simple example of univariate data would be the times a passenger spent waiting for a bus on different days, rounded to whole minutes.
Wait Times (minutes)

Univariate data can be visually represented using various graphical methods such as histograms, bar charts, or box plots. All these types of plots help better understand the distribution of the variable.

Example bar chart

This chart shows that the most frequent wait time is minutes. Understanding univariate data is often a necessary step before analyzing more complex relationships between multiple variables.
