To use the Distributive Property in reverse, we have to find the greatest common factor (GCF) between the terms. 12x&= 2 * 2 * 3 * x 30y&= 2 * 3 * 5 * yIn this case, the GCF is the product of the common prime factors. 2 * 3 = 6 Let's factor out the GCF for our expression.

Rewrite 12x as 6 * 2x

6 * 2x+30y

Rewrite 30y as 6 * 5y

6 * 2x+6 * 5y

Factor out 6

6(2x+5y)
