The slope of a line is the vertical difference Δy divided by the horizontal difference Δx. From the slope triangle we see that these are -20 and 2, respectively.
m=ΔxΔy⇔m=2-20=-10
When we know the slope we can use the slope-intercept form to write the following equation.
y=-10x+b
To complete the equation we have to find the y-intercept also. We can do that by substituting one of the known points in the equation and solving for b.
