Observing the given graph, we can see that the line passes through the points (-4,1) and (1,-2). We can use a graph to find the slope of a line. Let's take a look at the change in x and y between the given points.

We can see that as the line falls from left to right. Therefore, the slope is negative. The run, or change in x, is 5. Similarly, the rise, or change in y, is -3. Now we are ready to find the slope m. m=rise/run ⇔ m=-3/5=- 3/5 We can confirm this answer by using the formula. m = y_2-y_1/x_2-x_1 We will use the given points to solve for the slope.

m = y_2-y_1/x_2-x_1
m=-2- 1/1-( -4)
m=-2-1/1+4
m=-3/5
m=-3/5

We got the same number as before. We can be sure the slope is - 35.
