1.5d+3-3=- 4.5-3

Subtract terms

1.5d=-7.5

1.5d/1.5=-7.5/1.5

Put minus sign in front of fraction

1.5d/1.5=-7.5/1.5

Calculate quotient

d=-5

The solution to the equation is d=-5. We can check our solution by substituting it into the original equation.

1.5d+3=- 4.5

d= -5

1.5( -5)+3? =-4.5

a(- b)=- a * b

-7.5+3? =-4.5

Add terms

-4.5=-4.5

Our solution is correct because the left-hand side is equal to the right-hand side.
