Exercise 63 Page 386

Two lines that are not parallel could definitely intersect, and they would do so at a point.

The question then, is whether or not there are situations where non-parallel lines do not intersect. Situations like this can happen when the lines exist in a three-dimensional space. If we were to move one of the intersecting lines to another plane, there would be distance between the lines at the point where they previously intersected. This can be visualized as the lines being contained in two parallel planes, one above the other.

Planes

We can, therefore, conclude that two lines that are not parallel sometimes intersect.
