We want to determine the number of lines of symmetry for the figure. To do so, consider that a way to think about lines of symmetry is if you are able to fold a figure along some line so that the two parts line up, then we have found a line of symmetry. For the star, there are six ways we can fold it that fits this criteria.

Therefore, we have 6 lines of symmetry for the given figure.
