To solve an equation, we should first gather all of the variable terms on one side and all of the constant terms on the other using the Properties of Equality. In this case, we start by subtracting 6 from both sides of the equation.

6-0.25f=f-3
6-0.25f-6=f-3-6
-0.25f=f-9
-0.25f-f=f-9-f
-1.25f=-9
-1.25f/-1.25=-9/-1.25
1.25f/1.25=9/1.25
f=7.2

The solution to the equation is f=7.2.
