a The independent variable is the input of a function, and the dependent variable changes depending on the value of the input. In this case, we have the following variables.

Independent Variable: & Celsius Dependent Variable: & Kelvin This is because Celsius is the horizontal axis, or the inputs, and Kelvin is the vertical axis, or the outputs. Therefore, as the temperature Celsius changes, so does the temperature Kelvin.

b From the graph, we can see the intercepts — the points where the function crosses the axes.

C-intercept:( -273, 0) K-intercept:( 0, 273) The C-intercept shows that the temperature at -273 ° Celsius is equivalent to 0 Kelvin. The K-intercept shows that the temperature at 0 ° Celsius is equivalent to 273 Kelvin.
