Factor out a minus sign

Theory

Factor out a minus sign

A difference of the form -46\text{-}4-6 can be rewritten by factoring out the negative. When doing so, the signs of all terms change. -46=-(4+6) \text{-}4-6=\text{-}(4+6) This is the same rule as when distributing a negative, but used the other way around.
