An empty set is a set with no elements. It is written with empty curly brackets as

or with the symbol

\emptyset .

In a Venn Diagram, the empty set

can be shown by not writing any elements in it.

A universal set containing integers between -9 and 9 (excluding 0), along with an empty set A.

The empty set can also be described in different ways, such as by verbal description, roster notation, and set-builder notation.

Verbal Description	All negative integers greater than $0 .$
Roster Notation	${}$ or $\emptyset$
Set-Builder Notation	${x ∣ x is a negative integer greater than 0}$
