A boundary, or boundary curve, is the curve that delimits an area. If the boundary is a straight line, it is typically referred to as boundary line.
Boundaries are typically used to describe the borders of the solution set of an inequality involving two variables. When the inequality is strict, the boundary is represented using dashed curve. Otherwise, the boundary is drawn using a solid curve.
