To identify which variable is independent and which is dependent, we need to analyze which variable causes a change in the other.
  • Independent Variable: Causes change in the dependent variable.
  • Dependent Variable: Changes because of the independent variable.

Selling more raffle tickets causes the amount of money earned to increase. In other words, the amount of money earned depends on the amount of raffle tickets that are sold. Therefore, the amount of raffle tickets that are sold t is the independent variable, and the amount of money earned m is the dependent variable.
