Analyze the shape and size of the figure.

Reflection

We want to know if the blue figure is a translation, reflection, rotation, or dilation of the red figure.

To do so, let's recall the definitions of each transformation.

Transformation Definition
Translation Transformation in which a figure slides but does not turn. Every point of the figure moves the same distance and in the same direction.
Reflection Transformation in which a figure is reflected in a line. A reflection creates a mirror image of the original figure.
Rotation Transformation in which a figure is rotated about a point called the center of rotation.
Dilation Transformation in which a figure is made larger or smaller with respect to a point. The angles of the image and the original figure are congruent.

Note that the blue figure has the same shape and size as the red figure. The difference between them is that the blue figure is facing the red figure. This means that it is a mirror image of red figure. Therefore, the blue figure is a reflection of the red figure.
