We want to find the characteristics of real-life scenarios that can be modeled by trigonometric functions. We will begin by taking a look at the graph of a sine function.
Sine
Just like the cycles repeat over a period, some real-life events repeat over time. Think of the seasons as an example. One complete cycle would be a full rotation of the different seasons. The period is the time it takes to finish all these four seasons, which is 1 year. Spring → Summer → Fall → Winter Real-life scenarios that have patterns that repeat over time can be modeled using trigonometric functions.
