Exercise 65 Page 926

Use the formula for area of a triangle.

32.76mm^2

Practice makes perfect
We will use the formula for calculating the area of a triangle. A=1/2bh We need to substitute the value of the base, b= 5.2mm, and the value of the height, h= 12.6 mm, into the formula to calculate A.
A=1/2bh
A=1/2( 5.2 mm)( 12.6mm)
A=1/2(65.52 mm^2)
A=65.52 mm^2/2
A=32.76 mm^2
The area of the triangle is 32.76mm^2.
