Exercise 64 Page 926

Use the formula for area of a triangle.

45in.^2

Practice makes perfect
We will use the formula for calculating the area of a triangle. A=1/2bh We need to substitute the value of the base, b= 6inches, and the value of the height, h= 15 inches, into the formula to calculate A.
A=1/2bh
A=1/2( 6in.)( 15in.)
A=1/2(90in.^2)
A=90in.^2/2
A=45in.^2
The area of the triangle is 45 square inches.
