Exercise 63 Page 926

Use the formula for area of a triangle.

6cm^2

Practice makes perfect
We will use the formula for calculating the area of a triangle. A=1/2bh We need to substitute the value of the base, b= 3cm, and the value of the height, h= 4 cm, into the formula to calculate A.
A=1/2bh
A=1/2( 3 cm)( 4cm)
A=1/2(12) cm^2
A=12/2 cm^2
A=6 cm^2
The area of the triangle is 6cm^2.
