To start, estimate the percentages displayed on the bar graph.
≈ 39 %
Practice makes perfect
We have been given a bar graph that represents the heights of men in a survey.
We have been told that the heights of men aged 25 to 34 are normally distributed about the mean. We will find the approximate percentage of men aged 25 to 34 whose height is less than 70 inches.
To find the percentage, we will estimate the percent of data which is less than 70 inches and show it on the graph.
Finally, we can find the percentage of men by adding the percentages of the shaded areas.
