Start by solving the inequality.

Before we can write the inequality in set-builder notation, we have to solve the inequality by isolating p.

2(3p-11)≥- 16
3p-11≥- 8
3p≥ 3
p≥ 1

To use set-builder notation, we need a variable, which in this case is p, and a statement describing the elements of the set. Knowing that p≥ 1 is the solution to the inequality, we can write the solution in set-builder notation. { p | p≥ 1} This can be read as the set includes any value of p such that p is greater than or equal to 1.
