To solve an equation, we should first gather all of the variable terms on one side of the equation and all of the constant terms on the other side using the Properties of Equality. In this case, we will start by multiplying each side of the equation by 1000 to clear the decimals.

1.025v+2.458=7.583
(1.025v+2.458)1000=(7.583)1000
1.025v(1000)+2.458(1000)=(7.583)1000
1025v+2458=7583
1025v=5125
v=5125/1025
v=5

The solution to the equation is v=5. We can check our solution by substituting it into the original equation.

1.025v+2.458=7.583
1.025( 5)+2.458? =7.583
5.125+2.458? =7.583
7.583=7.583

Since the left-hand side is equal to the right-hand side, our solution is correct.
