In this case, the variable terms are already on the left-hand side of the equation, so we will start by combining like terms and then isolating t-term.

Subtract term

3t-6=6

LHS+6=RHS+6

3t-6+6=6+6

Add terms

3t=12

t=12/3

Calculate quotient

t=4

The solution to the equation is t=4. We can check our solution by substituting it into the original equation.
