Use the Probability Formula.
3/4
When calculating a probability, we are comparing the number of favorable outcomes to the number of possible outcomes. To calculate the probability that a spinner would not land on the green section we will use the Probability Formula.
P=Favorable Outcomes/Possible Outcomes
Now we can look at the spinner and find the number of possible outcomes.
There are 4 sections on the spinner which is also the number of possible outcomes. Now we can find how many outcomes will result in the spinner not landing on the green part.
Out of these, there are 3 such outcomes which is also the number of favorable outcomes. Now we have enough information to calculate P(Not green).
The probability of the spinner not landing on the green section is 34, which can also be written as 3:4.
