We will find the length of the base QR.

Recall the Trapezoid Midsegment Theorem.

Trapezoid Midsegment Theorem

The midsegment of a trapezoid is parallel to each base and its measure is one half the sum of the lengths of the bases.

Using the theorem, we can write the following equation. SV= 1/2 ( TU+ QR) We are given that SV= 17 and TU= 26 Let's find the length of QR.
SV=1/2 (TU+QR)
Solve for QR
17=1/2( 26+QR)
34=26+QR
8=QR
QR=8
We found that base QR=8.
