Tossing a coin can be used to simulate an experiment. Since we have 2 possible outcomes — heads and tails — this method can be used in case of experiments with 2 possible outcomes.
However, in the case of a fair coin, both outcomes have the same probability of occurring. Therefore, we sometimes can use tossing a coin to simulate an experiment, but only when both outcomes in our experiment are equally likely.
