The volume of a pyramid can be calculated using a known formula. V=1/3BhIn this formula B is the area of the base, and h is the height. From the diagram we can see that the base of the pyramid is a square with the side length of 11in. Recall that the area of the square equals the squared length of the side. B=s^2 ⇒ B= 11^2=121in^2 The area of the base is 121 square inches. We are also given that the height is 15in. Let's substitute these values into the formula and calculate V.

V=1/3Bh
V=1/3( 121)( 15)
V=1/3(1815)
V=1815/3
V=605

The volume of the pyramid is 605 in^3.
