In the percent proportion, the ratio of the part a to the whole b is equal to the percent p written as a fraction. a/b=p/100 Given any two of these three variables, we can find the third one. In this exercise, we want to find 92 % of 90. Therefore, we have that p= 92 and b= 90.
a/b=p/100
a/90=92/100
a=92/100* 90
Evaluate right-hand side
a=92* 90/100
a=92* 9/10
a=828/10
a=82.8
This means that 82.8 is 92 % of 90.
