D

Practice makes perfect

When calculating probability, we are comparing the number of favorable outcomes to the number of possible outcomes. To calculate the probability that a removed marble will not be yellow we should use the Probability Formula. P=Favorable Outcomes/Possible Outcomes In a bag there is a total of 4 red, 6 yellow, 2 blue, and 4 green marbles. The sum of these values is the number of possible outcomes. 4+6+2+4= 16 marbles Now we want to find how many marbles are not yellow. Let's add the number of red, blue, and green marbles. 4+2+4 = 10 marbles Therefore, the number of favorable outcomes is 10. Now we have enough information to calculate P(not yellow).

P=Favorable Outcomes/Possible Outcomes
P(not yellow)=10/16
P(not yellow)=5/8

The probability that a removed marble will not be yellow is 58, which corresponds to answer D.
