There are 4 answers to choose from for each of a five-question multiple choice quiz. Since the number of possible answers in each question is related to the number of options we have, we can use the Fundamental Counting Principle.

Therefore, the number of different ways a student can answer the five questions is the product of these five values. 4 * 4 * 4 * 4 * 4 =1024
