We want to find how many ways there are to choose 4 out of 9 different reporters. Note that, in this case, the order is important. Therefore, each possible arrangement is a permutation. To calculate the answer, we will use the formula for permutations of n reporters taken r at a time. _n P_r = n!/(n-r)! We have 9 reporters and are taking 4 at a time. This means that n= 9 and r= 4. Let's substitute these values in the above formula.

_n P_r = n!/(n-r)!
_9 P_4 = 9!/( 9- 4)!

_9 P_4 = 9!/5!

Write as a product

_9 P_4 = 9* 8* 7* 6* 5!/5!
_9 P_4 = 9* 8* 7* 6/1
_9 P_4 = 3024/1
