The percent proportion is a proportion that equates a part of a whole to a percent out of 100. part/whole=percent/100 ⇔ a/b=p/100 By substituting p= 5 into the formula, we can determine the fraction that is equivalent to 5 %.
a/b=p/100
a/b=5/100
a/b=1/20
Therefore, 5 % is the same as 120.
