# Input and Output - Function

The input of a function is the value that goes into the function. The result of the function is called the output.
Select input:
$x=\text{-2}$

$x=0$

$x=3$

The $x$-value in the function notation $f(x)$ represent its input and the value of the function, usually called the $y$-value, represent the output.
