# Even Number

An even number is any integer that is divisible exactly by $2.$ In other words, if the quotient of an integer and $2$ is an integer, then the first integer is considered to be an even number.

Examples:

$n$ $\dfrac{n}{2}$ $k$ Even?
$\text{-}4$ $\dfrac{{\color{#0000FF}{\text{-}4}}}{2}$ $\text{-} 2$ Yes
$3$ $\dfrac{{\color{#0000FF}{3}}}{2}$ $1.5$ No
$36$ $\dfrac{{\color{#0000FF}{36}}}{2}$ $18$ Yes
$25$ $\dfrac{{\color{#0000FF}{25}}}{2}$ $12.5$ No

Even numbers are usually defined as numbers $n$ that can be written in the form $n=2k,$ where $k$ is an integer.
