Practice makes perfect
When calculating probability, we are comparing the number of favorable outcomes to the number of possible outcomes. To calculate the probability that a randomly chosen sock is blue we will use the Probability Formula. P=Favorable Outcomes/Possible Outcomes There are 30 cards labeled 1 to 30. We want to find the probability of pulling a card that is greater than 5. Since there are 30 cards, there are 30 possible outcomes. Out of these, the ones labeled 6 to 30 have a number that is greater than 5. There are 25 such cards, so there are 25 favorable outcomes.
P=Favorable Outcomes/Possible Outcomes
P(greater than 5)=25/30
P(greater than 5)=5/6
