To check that this solution is correct, let's substitute x = 5 into the original equation and simplify.

x= 5

1.2( 5) ? = 6
Multiply

Multiply

6 = 6 ✓

Since the left-hand side and right-hand side are equal, x = 5 is the correct solution.
