To do so, we need to find the total number of students. 17+ 14+ 11+ 6+ 2= 50 Next, we can divide the number of students that chose a career in medicine by the total number of students. P(medicine)=11/50 Now, we want to predict the number of students that will enter the medical field if there are 500 students. Let n represent this number. We can assume that the ratio of students choosing a career in medicine is the same among all of the students. Using this information, we can write an equivalent ratio. 11/50=n/500 Because 50*10 is equal to 500, we can multiply 11 by 10 to find n.

We can predict that 110 students will enter the medical field because 11* 10 equals 110.
